Texecutioners take on Cincinnati

In our next home bout, the all-star Texecutioners – made up of the best of the best of the Texas Rollergirls and representing all four home teams – will be taking on the Cincinnati Rollergirls’ Black Sheep at the Austin Convention Center. This highly competitive game features two closely matched teams and some of the best skaters in the country – you do not want to miss this bout!

The Texas Rollergirls are currently ranked second in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association’s South Central region, while the Cincinnati Rollergirls are ranked fifth in the North Central region. The teams are placed twelfth and fifteenth, respectively, in the independent Derby News Network’s power rankings. The last time the teams met, the Texecutioners dispatched the Black Sheep by nearly 90 points, 135 to 48 … but that was back in June 2008 – ancient history in the sports world – and we’re expecting a hard-fought and close game that will have you biting your nails.

The Black Sheep have recently defeated the Nashville Rollergirls’ Music City All Stars and will be playing the Fort Wayne Derby Girls next weekend, before landing in Austin. The Texecutioners have kicked off their season with a series of striking victories against regional opponents, taking out the Governor’s Cup and Clover Cup tournaments undefeated.

The undercard match for this bout is a mash-up game featuring a broad selection of your favorite home-team skaters. Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Bullet Tooth Tracy and Slaughter Melon were on the same team? How about Olympia and Virgo? Now you can find out – Olympia will be leading a preppy team of clean-skating ladies against the rough-and-tumble punks led by rookie Bad Influence.

Tickets are available online and at our vendors now.
