Official Final: 195 Bay Area – 180 Windy City. WHAT. A. GAME.

Jam 21 will start with 1:32 left on the game clock as an official time out is taken and Chantilly Mace takes the jammer line for Bay Area. Mace gets knocked into the inside as the Windy blockers try to kill Varla Vendetta’s penalty to come back in the last minute in this game, but Mace breaks through and picks up lead jammer as Ol Drrrty Go-Go heads to the penalty box for Windy. Varla stands in the box but not before Mace picks up a grand slam, and the back wall of Bay Area blockers keeps Varla back. Varla breaks out of the pack and completes her non-scoring pass, hops up and over the apex, and Sargentina lays a brutal hit on Chantilly Mace. Mace looking up at the game clock waits just a few seconds and upon seeing the 0, calls off the jam for the Bay Area win. Unofficial Final 195 Bay Area – 180 Windy City.

Jam 20 hears a lot of noise in the convention center as Steely Jan BURNS through the pack to pick up lead jammer, and screams through the middle of the pack for a grand slam. No pack is called and Varla bolts out but heads to the penalty box for her fourth minor,  for a HUGE Bay Area power jam. Jan picks up another four and calls the jam to start the next jam with an advantage. Score is now 186-176 Bay Area.

Yvette Yourmaker takes the jam line for Windy City in Jam 19 against Nock Nock and Bay Area takes a time out to change out the blocker line. As you can imagine, no one here at the Austin Convention Center is getting up to go to the bathroom at this point, because the spread is two points and the clock is winding down. Windy takes a knee in the back to get the jam started, and Nock shoots up the inside to meet the backside of Jackie Daniels. She continues to fight to pick up lead jammer status and makes a full lap to pick up three points being forced to call the jam. Guess what? LEAD CHANGE!!!!! 177 – 176, Bay Area.

Jam 18 starts with Varla Vendetta jamming against Chantilly Mace, and a rough and tumble combo of belle RIGHT hooks and Brawllen Angel beats up Varla as Mace gets the lead jammer call. Varla heads to the penalty box and the play gets rougher as both Sargentina, fresh off a huge jammer takedown, and belle RIGHT hooks head to the penalty box. After some fighting Mace picks up another grand slam, bringing it to a 7-point game. Varla comes screaming out of the box but the whistle ends the jam after a final grand slam, bringing the score to 176-174 with 3:30 left in the game.

Jackie Daniels takes the jam line for Windy again in jam 17 against Nock Nock for Bay Area, and Nock Nock runs the short Windy wall out for the lead jammer call. Liza Machete blocks out of bounds and heads to the penalty box for Bay Area along with Demanda Riot, and some quick points happen for both teams before the whistle, bringing the score to 175-159, Windy advantage.

Lulu Lockjaw and Varla Vendetta put on the stars to jam for Jam 16 and Bay Area forges a solid back wall. Varla makes it through the pack but heads to the box for a major track cut, giving lead jammer status to Bay Area’s LuLu Lockjaw. She scrapes through and picks up a grand slam as Windy loses Bork Bork Bork to the box. Lulu gets five more points and Hoosier Mama comes back from the box to block her, but Ol Drrrty Go-Go heads to the box and Lulu picks up another slam. Varla exits the box and completes her non-scoring pass, but is not allowed to score as the jam is called.

Score update going into Jam 16, Windy 172 – Bay Area 136 with 8:39 left in the game.

Jam 15 sees Chantilly Mace take the jammer line against Jackie Daniels in her first jammer turn in this game. Chantilly draws out the front and Jackie follows closely, forcing the jam to be called immediately as Windy pivot Hoosier Mama heads to the box for engaging out of play.

Varla Vendetta jams against Nock Nock in Jam 14 as the packs start off progressively rougher. Nock Nock runs out the front and gets lead jammer for Bay Area with Varla half a lap behind. Windy tries to set up the front wall but allows Nock to pick up three points as Varla speeds around and gets 1.

In Jam 13 we have Steely Jan for Bay Area facing off against Phoebe Fi Fo Fum of Windy City. Steely speeds up her feet to get the lead jammer call, and Phoebe goes down hard at the hips of belle RIGHT hooks and gets recycled to the back of the pack. Bork Bork Bork works some hard defense and Phoebe finally clears the pack, and Jan scores a grand slam and calls it off.

Jam 12 has Kola Loka on the jam line unopposed as Mace went to the box at the final whistle of the last jam. Kola runs BAD’s 2 wall out in the front to pick up lead jammer, and this is a major power jam opportunity for Windy as BAD is both jammerless and with only two blockers. She picks up a grand slam and Jackie Daniels heads to the box, and 10 seconds later Kola picks up 5 more points. Windy grabs Brawllen Angel as an antelope giving Kola yet another grand slam, and Mace comes out of the box to complete her non-scoring pass. Kola picks up a final two and calls the jam as Mace comes around to score.

Jam 11 gives us Chantilly Mace against Varla Vendetta for Windy, and Mace goes high to low but Varla makes it out first. Due to minors on both sides we will have a full 2-minute jam. Varla comes through for three points, missing the last one for an improper pass, and Mace picks up a full 4. Varla trips over Demanda but hops up and finishes her pass, picking up four points, and Chantilly Mace picks up 4 to match. Varla takes a whip off Ol Drrrty Go-Go’s jersey to pick up four more, then jumps up the inside line for the first grand slam of this jam. Mace makes it out for 4, and both jammers reengage the pack at the same time and hit the floor simultaneously. Varla picks up three points and both Razor Grrl and one more BAD blocker head to the box. Score now 149-128, Windy.

Jam 10 has Kola Loka up against Nock Nock for Bay Area in a 2 on 3 pack in favor of Bay Area. Kola jumps up the inside line and burns her way around the track with Nock half a lap behind. Bay Area forges a front wall but she spins around to pick up three points before being forced to call the jam as Nock reengages.

Phoebe Fi Fo Fum is back on the jam line for Windy in Jam 9 against Lulu Lockjaw, who gets some trouble from Sargentina in the back of the pack. Phoebe comes around on a full lap and gets a grand slam after busting through the BAD wall as lead jammer. Lulu completes her non-scoring pass as blockers one by one for both teams head to the penalty box, and Phoebe calls off the jam. Score now 126-115, Windy City.

Chantilly Mace takes the star against Varla Vendetta for Windy City for Jam 8 and it’s a very rough scrum with Mace almost making it to the front but she gets absorbed by the Windy wall. The jam ends 0-0.

Jam 7 has Kola Loka jamming unopposed against a full line of Bay Area blockers including Demanda Riot, belle RIGHT hooks, Ruth Enasia, and Kid Ace. Bork Bork Bork for Windy heads to the penalty box leaving Windy with two blockers, and Kola fights through for the lead jam call. Windy turns on the revolving door to the box for blockers, with Ol Drrrty Go-Go coming out and Sargentina going in. Some fancy footwork helps Steely Jan on her way out of the penalty box, but Kola calls the jam before she can score. Score is now 116-115 Windy – LEAD CHANGE!

In Jam 6 Steely Jan faces off against Yvette Yourmaker who flies straight out of the pack and around the track for a full grand slam. Steely Jan hits a back wall of black before using the inside line to guide her through on the non-scoring pass. She gets taken down by Sargentina and the jam ends as she goes to the penalty box for a low block.

Jam 5 sees Varla Vendetta taking the jammer line against Nock Nock for Bay Area, and Nock Nock charges up the inside line to get the lead jammer call with Varla half a lap behind. Nock Nock charges through the pack but manages to pick up four points to Bay Area’s 0 for 115-103, Bay Area.

Kola Loka takes the star for Windy as Lulu Lockjaw jams for BAD in Jam 4, and Kola makes it to the front of the pack but gets some serious booty blocking from BooYaYa! before clearing the pack for lead jam. A major forearm call sends Kola to the box before she can call the jam, and Lulu picks up a grand slam in midst of the chaos. She wiggles through looking for some offensive help but Windy isn’t letting her out without a fight. She makes it through to pick up another grand slam for Bay Area. Bork Bork Bork kicks the defense up a notch but the no pack call means Lulu makes it through for another grand slam. Kola gets released from the box and burns around the track, but the 2 minute jam ends with a score of 114-99, Bay Area.

In Jam 3 Chantilly Mace faces off against Yvette Yourmaker for Windy, and Yvette takes the outside and cuts in to get the lead jammer call. She makes her way around and has some trouble with belle RIGHT hooks before picking up four points as Mace picks up three. Mace takes the quick inside line to pick up four points, scoring before Windy could call it off, making the score 99-95 Bay Area.

Jam 2 sees Varla Vendetta taking the star for Windy against Steely Jan for Bay Area, and Varla quickly picks up lead jam. Jan breaks free as Varla hits the back of the pack. She takes a hip check but stays up to grab 4 quick points and calls off the jam.

Both teams are back on the floor for Jam 1 of Period 2, and Nock Nock is on the jammer line for Bay Area against a small Windy line of Hoosier Mama and Yvette Yourmaker. Kola Loka is standing in the penalty box, and the line of BAD blockers is on a knee in the back corner of the jammer line. No pack is called and Nock Nock is off and out for the lead jammer call. Kola comes out of the box to complete her non-scoring pass and Nock Nock picks up a grand slam as Kola exits behind her, and the jam is called.

Texas is using this half time to do some warming up, and Bay Area and Windy City have switched benches giving Windy the jammer line bench and Bay Area the pivot side.

Halftime Score: Bay Area 87 – Windy City 83.

Jam 20, last jam of the half, has Chantilly Mace jamming unopposed for Bay Area. The pack breaks and she burns out for lead jammer. She picks up a grand slam and then another as Bay Area’s blocking crew keeps Windy’s blockers spread wide across the track. She calls the jam before she can score any more points, and ends the half with a score of 87-83, Bay Area.

In  Jam 19 Lulu Lockjaw takes the jam line against Kola Loka, who runs up the inside line and goes to the box for a cut track major. Lulu jumps around Hoosier Mama, giving her lead jam status, and she chooses to immediately call the jam.

Jam 18 gives us Phoebe Fi Fo Fum for Windy against Chantilly Mace for BAD, and Mace picks up lead jammer. Phoebe takes a knee in the pack and breaks out, and Mace picks up 4 and calls the jam. Score is now 83-73, Windy favor.

Varla Vendetta faces off against Nock Nock for BAD in Jam 17 and picks up lead jammer status with Nock Nock half a lap behind. Varla trips over Brawllen Angel and does pick up three points, and calls in as Nock Nock hits the pack, collecting 1.

Yvette Yourmaker takes her first turn this game with the jammer star in Jam 16 and breaks out first but doesn’t get the lead jammer call. With a clever assist around the outside she picks up a quick grand slam as Bay Area ends the jam.

Jam 15 gives us our first small pack of the game, with three Windy blockers taking on two BAD blockers. Kola Loka winds herself around the front wall to pick up lead jammer as Lulu tries to fight out of the back. Kola gets a grand slam and comes back around to meet Lulu in the back. Windy runs the front of the pack not allowing Lulu to pass, but eventually has to let her go out of play. Kola gains 4 points and calls off the jam, and you know what that means – LEAD CHANGE! Score is now 75-68 in favor of Windy City. You know what to do!

In Jam 14 Chantilly Mace runs up the inside line for lead jammer as Varla Vendetta fights BooYaYa! to get out. Mace calls the jam off 0-0 and Boo heads to the box.

Jam 13 shows us Nock Nock against Phoebe Fi Fo Fum for Windy City, and Nock makes quick work of picking up lead jammer status. She comes back around on her scoring pass and takes a nearly clean line up the outside and picks up a grand slam. Phoebe heads to the penalty box, giving BAD a power jam opportunity. Nock Nock then gets sent to the box for a back block major on Hoosier Mama, releasing Phoebe. Demanda Riot waits in the back of the pack for her, clearing her immediately to the outside of the track. After some jostling, Phoebe takes the outside line to complete her non-scoring pass and picks up a full five points. Bay Area jammer Nock Nock comes out of the box and matches her grand slam side by side. Phoebe picks up one more grand slam, and the score gets closer, 68-61.

Jam 12 sees Kola Loka juking back and forth against Steely Jan and it’s all defense for both teams in the pack. Kola heads to the front and runs out Bay Area, but is not awarded lead jammer. Jan picks up lead jammer, but Windy picks up two points before Jan calls it off.

In Jam 11 Lulu Lockjaw jams for Bay Area against Varla Vendetta for Windy City. Varla gets to the front of the pack but gets sent to the middle by a BAD front wall. She makes it out of the pack but does not get lead jammer. She comes around for a grand slam and Lulu is still not past the wall of black in the front. She picks up one more grand slam, and Sargentina brutally knocks Lulu to the outside. Dodging belle RIGHT hooks, she picks up 5 more points, and Demanda Riot runs to the front trying to get Lulu out. She helps her to the front giving her lead jammer, and she calls the jam. Windy brings the score to 57-50, Bay Area.

Chantilly Mace is jamming unopposed in Jam 10 after Athena was sent to the penalty box at the end of the previous jam. She fights her way through and pushes the front Windy wall out of play with the help of Demanda Riot to pick up lead jammer. On the next lap Jackie Daniels send her to the floor, but Mace comes around to pick up a grand slam. She takes a brutal hit on the next lap from Sargentina, and Mace heads to the penalty box for a low block major, immediately followed by Athena DeCrime for a major back block. Each jammer spends a second in the box before reentering, and Mace easily clears the pack while Athena has trouble from the BAD blockers in the back. Bay Area now has two blockers in the box, and the jam ends with a score of 56-31 in favor of Bay Area.

Jam 9 has Athena DeCrime facing off against Steely Jan, and Steely Jan works her hips around Hoosier Mama for Windy to get the lead jam call. She fights her way through for a grand slam as Athena has yet to break the pack on her non-scoring pass. Windy dominates the front and allows Athena out, and an offensive block by Dorato allows Jan to pick up 3 points before calling off the jam.

An official time out is called to determine if what we saw as the pegassist in the previous jam was a legal assist. Upon review, the assist was seen as legal and the score from the previous jam stands.

Jam 8 sees Kola Loka jamming unopposed and she takes the PEGASSIST! around for lead jammer. She makes it around the track just as Nock Nock is released from the penalty box and screams through for a full set of four points before calling the jam.

Varla Vendetta takes on Nock Nock for Jam 7  and Windy has 4 blockers to BAD’s 3. The whistle blows and Nock Nock is awarded to lead jammer as Varla Vendetta heads to the box for her fourth minor penalty. Nock immediately starts capitalizing on the power jam and knocks out a grand slam. She picks up one more, and Jackie Daniels heads to the box as Windy’s pivot. Chantilly Mace takes the jammer star for Bay Area in Jam 5 against Kola Loka for Windy City, and Mace picks up lead jammer after trouble from Bork Bork Bork in the front of the pack. One lap later Kola makes it out, and Mace only manages to pull out two points before being forced to call it by Kola.

Steely Jan takes her first turn jamming for Bay Area  this weekend in Jam 4 against Varla Vendetta for Windy, and quickly gets the lead jammer call. BAD’s blockers take over the entire front of the pack and rough up Varla Vendetta, but Jan picks up a major track cut awarding the power jam situation to Windy. Varla weaves through the pack blocker by blocker and takes some rough hits but gets a grand slam. The pack slows and Varla runs a wall of Demanda Riot and BooYaYa! in the front of the pack for another five points. Steely Jan exits the box and comes in behind the pack for a grand slam and then four more to end the jam, bringing the score to 24-14, Bay Area lead.

In Jam 3 we have Nock Nock jamming for Bay Area against Athena DeCrime for Windy, and Nock Nock finally breaks out to get lead jammer in turn four. Athena goes to the box for a major forearm giving BAD a power jam early on. A set of stopped Bay Area blockers tries to slow play for Nock Nock, and she picks up two consecutive grand slams despite some serious contact from Windy’s blockers. Bay Area picks up an antelope for Windy but Windy’s blockers in the front of the pack keep the speed under control. Just before the whistle Nock pulls off another 5 points as Athena gets released, and the jam is called.

Jam 2 shows us LuLu Lockjaw taking the jam line against Kola Loka for Windy. Kola tries to jump and wedge through a two wall of BAD blockers but gets knocked to the outside, but she speeds up and meets with Lulu in the middle of the pack. After two laps of fast moving play neither jammer has broken the pack, and Lulu breaks free but is not awarded lead jammer. We end on another 0-0 jam as Kola gets lead and calls the jam.
