Skater name: Peppermint Bratty
Skater number: 37
Position: Blocker, Jammer
Year you started playing for TXRG: 2010
Years played elsewhere: 1 – Sioux Falls Roller Dollz
Birthday: January 24

Occupation? Just starting a new job as a laboratory technician, yay science!

Are you a mom? What do you do when you’re not kicking ass on the rink? I try to enjoy the few free hours I have away from derby with Brad and our 4 year old son, Milo. Once in awhile we get a round of disc golf in.

What is your most impressive derby injury? I probably have the most bruises of any skater at any given time.

Drink of choice at a bar? Micro-brewed beer—my faves are Deschutes Black Butte Porter and Rogue Brutal Bitter.

Other sports you have played? Disc golf, snowboarding and In-line roller hockey.

How did you get into derby? I grew up in rollerskates and went to the local rink every Friday night as a kid. When I found out about the roller derby revolution I went to a Minnesota Rollergirls bout and had no doubt in my mind that this was the perfect sport for me.

Who inspires you? Each one of the Hell Marys!

What are you most thankful for in your life? A derby-supportive “widower” and my awesome kid!

How did you pick your derby name? It just came to me and I love the tomboy in Peppermint Patty. My number is the age I was when I started playing derby.

What’s the hardest part of being a rollergirl? The time commitment it takes to contribute to running the derby business and play the game at the same time.

First thing you do after a derby bout: thank the refs and NSO’s, take of my skates and head to the shortest beer line.

Would you like to brag about your skates? Not really, donations for a new pair are always welcome!

Which one of your tattoos is your favorite – what is it and why? I need to have more than one to have a favorite.
