Martial status? Are you a mom?
I’ve been married for 8 years and we have a 5 year old daughter.
Drink of choice at a bar?
Jameson. Sometimes with Sprite
Hobbies?
Photography, arts and crafts, teaching my kid how to throw a right hook.
Other sports you have played?
I’ve played ice hockey since I was 12 years old. Before that I played softball for a few years and basketball (I only played one season, and not successfully).
Favorite roller derby player?
I’m a serious fangirl and tend to get all giggly and awkward around really amazing skaters. I honestly cannot name only one player whom I look up to. In this league alone, there are plenty. I recently asked Belle Starr for her autograph and it changed my world.
What are you most thankful for in your life?
My daughter. I know I’m a bit biased, but she really is the coolest person I’ve ever been around.
How/why did you pick your derby name?
I wanted a derby name that is actually my name and since everyone always called me Bekah or Bek, “Bex” was an easy extension of that nickname. So I opened up the dictionary to the Ex- words and found something that sounded really cool with a B in front of it. I was ALMOST “Bexhibitionist” but my mom talked me out of it.
How has roller derby impacted your life?
It relocated me to Austin!
First thing you do after a derby bout:
Update the league’s Twitter and Facebook.
