Who is your favorite band/musician/group? Sex Pistols, PiL
Drink of choice at a bar? Lonestar
Hobbies? I have always played Guitar. mostly because I like to hear myself sing.
Other sports you have played? Hockey, Basketball, Gymnastics.
What’s your most embarrassing derby moment? On a water break I slipped and spraining my ankle next to a cone that read “Caution Wet”.
When did you start skating? First time on quad skates was 2009.
How did you get into derby? Tsu mommy would saunter across campus like a rock star. I surmised that what made her so confident was Derby. I haven’t quite mastered her kick-ass saunter, but I feel like a rock star.
Favorite food? Baja Mexican…. but TexMex fills the void.
Favorite roller derby player? Devil Grrl… She was one of my first trainers, great player and acerbically funny.
What are you most thankful for in your life? The health of my boys and time spent with them.
How did you pick your derby name? I grew up in southern California when the punk rock scene/music was revived because of the oppressive plastic environment. Those late nights at gigs shaped me. Mommy Rotten, a take on Johnny Rotten from the Sex Pistols is a nod to that.
How has roller derby impacted your life? Derby is a community, a sport, a way of living….I am in deep.
What’s the hardest part of being a rollergirl? Waiting for injuries to heal so I can skate again.
Would you like to brag about your skates? Not yet, but I am in the market so I hope to soon.
Which one of your tattoos is your favorite – what is it and why? I wish I had a favorite tat. Instead I’m in the painful process of removing a tattoo that covers another horrible tattoo. The NEXT one will be for life. Maybe a purple lighting bolt?
Most memorable experience you’ve had with a fan: fans? what fans? I will have to get back on that.
