What skates do you wear? Reidell 965. Power Dyne Pro plates
What is your favorite song to warm-up to? Hall and Oates Private Eyes.
What’s your favorite way to work out off-skates? Balance training. Anything that can be done perched atop a Bosu- I’m in!
The best piece of derby advice you’ve ever been given… Take what you can from each jam: acknowledge both your mistakes and achievements and take that with you to the next jam. There’s no time to bask in the glory or beat yourself up. There’s only time to be PRESENT, focus on what’s to come.
The best piece of derby advice you’d like to give someone new… Never compare your progress to those around you, set personal goals and meet those goals in realistic time frames. Set yourself up to be the best YOU, you can be each time you lace up.
Who is your derby idol? Why? Each and every one of my team mates is an inspiration to me. They each have traits/skating styles I personally aspire to possess one day.
What is the best derby bout you’ve ever watched? Why? Texas vs. Gotham Championship bout 2013. The strength and unity of Texas was astounding. The lead changes and intense nature of the bout made for such an amazing experience. Being on the sidelines hearing the whole US Cellular Arena cheering for Texas is such a remarkable feeling to be able to carry with me.
