I have been lucky thus far and have only pulled ligaments in my shoulder and bruised my butt a couple of times.
Craftin it up!! I enjoy beading, quilting, crocheting, sewing, and any combo of the mentioned.
What’s your most embarrassing derby moment?
Blocking my own jammer.
When did you start skating? OR How did you get into derby?
I started my skating journey while in grad school in Keene, NH. A group of women and I in the Peterborough area started the Monadnock Roller Derby. After finishing school, I moved back to Texas and gave it a go with the Texas Rollergirls.
Everything and anything that burns your face off!! Particularly in the form of Mexican food.
Favorite roller derby player?
Spark ‘N’ Burn – from the Elm City Derby Damez
Who inspires you?
People who do not sit around waiting for life to happen to them.
How did you pick your derby name?
Family nickname for my enjoyment of riding my bicycle and supporting the bicycle community.
How has roller derby impacted your life?
I am now an adrenaline junky. Since skating, I have challenged myself with riding motorcycles and working with students’ with bad attitudes; next is the shooting range.
What’s the hardest part of being a rollergirl?
Getting blisters on the arches of your feet. I had one explode the other night scrimmaging. My only advice: careful when you take your sock off.
First thing you do after a derby bout:
High 5 everyone in sight!
